I imagined you to be taller
Your skin darkened
Sallowed
Ash-like
And yet you are unexpected here
Picturesque
Such elegance and etiquette in your movement
A dancer almost I'd call you
Beautiful beyond compare
I'd not be frightened by you, if I knew not your purpose here
I'd like to pretend, for a moment, and allow myself to be taken in by such magnificence
Your eyes should have been coal black
Your touch should have been ice cold
Your words should have been vulgar and fierce
But your eyes here are gold and clear,
Glistening like diamonds
And your touch to me is comfort
Whispering words so gently,
You appear a lullaby
My hand would be yours to deliver,
To hold and lead astray
My mind would remain hypnotized by your soft, inviting stare
And my body become a temple to this performance
But you forget, I know your name,
I've been awaiting your presence here,
A phantom to my existence
My rapture
My reaper
My fear
